you could get ezbounce running on a box that has multiple ips and add them to the ezbounce config, and then install a tcl on the bots that allows them to connect to irc via ezbounce, I expect you can get 2-3 bots on per ip depending on the network.

[ This Message was edited by: Chrysalis on 2001-10-22 03:41 ]
Statistics: Posted by Chrysalis — Mon Oct 22, 2001 5:40 am

With the simple reason, DOS your box, 50 bots go poof.

As for settings v-hosts, you can only if your ISP (I am fromt he UK, so don't say you should know this) allows you to manage your own DNS records.

If they do, then you will need 1 IP for each v-host you wish to make (IP's are very scarse now, so good look hunting some down).

You can't use the reserved IP ranges designed for corporate networks, as the IP's used for v-hosts need to be publicaly accessable, which these IP's ar'nt.

Rule of thumb: If you didn't know these details allready, you should either stop thinking about the idea now, or start reading up about networks (good look with this one).
Statistics: Posted by ppslim — Fri Oct 19, 2001 9:48 pm

Hiya !
Im using @Home cable. I run mandrake 8.0
I was wondering if there was any way I could make my own VHosts. The problem is @home already has rdns. is there any way I could make my own Vhosts mebbe using reserved class ips ? 10.0.0.1 or something ? Im makin a botnet of 50 bots. I was hoping I could make each of them have a differnet host on IRC when they connect. it doesnt have to be real, just different so they dont look like theyre from the same machine ( yes all 50 of them will be on my machine)
Thankyou
ray

Statistics: Posted by Guest — Fri Oct 19, 2001 7:45 pm
