Hello, i got rather a difficult problem that i have no idea how to slove. What i would like to do is keep files on my bot's file system but haveanyone access that file system. So lets say steve enters my chan and is not a user on my bot, i want him to be able to access the file system but not the partyline. I am hoping this is possible because i think it would be the easiest way to do this.

However i have thought of 2 other solutions but still need some help.

My first is use a xdcc/file tcl and thats uses eggdrops file system and supports multiple file directorys. What i mean by this is someone adds a file to the bot and then the tcl would reconize the files in the filesystem but the tcl would also have to reconize the different directories meaning i had 2 directorys in my file system called TEST1 and TEST2 the script would have to reconize files from both dirs. I have tried one script like this called xdccthing but i cant get it to reconize the files even so my conf and the tcl script has the same dir entered for the filesystem. So what i need from you guys is suggustions on what tcl to do this with.

Now my second which i really dont want to do is have the poeple thats not on the bot add themselves using a msg commands. But i would only want the users to have the +pf flags. I really dont want to do this since it would be insecure and clog up my userlist. But if i do i would need tcl scripts to keep these people from idling on the partyline. So they would have the flag X and if they idle on the partyline for more than 2 min it would kick them off. And also maybe a script to only allow them to use the command .files and disable all other commands, i dont this is pobbible but it would be nice. Again this is not my ideal solution but im afraid it might be my only.

By the way i am using eggdrop 1.6.10 and real quick how do you upload file to the bots file system and what flags do you need. When i tried i got a Operation in Progress error

Hmm this is way longer than i wanted but thanx in advance and please help me slove this problem!

David
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Mon Jul 01, 2002 10:41 am
