Added to my "do something" list. Not having run more than one bot from the same directory, I haven't encountered this issue myself. I won't know what the solution will be until I've duplicated the scenario and looked at it, but I imagine something transparent that doesn't involve control function.
Statistics: Posted by slennox — Mon Jun 17, 2002 3:09 pm

Idea taken from using netbots with several bots running from the same dir

One of the flaws I have found in netupdate, is that fact that I have to specificaly use control groups, else I end up in a mess (only on some of my bots).

1 idea I thought of, is to use a default control group for this feature. Eg, one named "netupdate". While it saves only a few keystrokes at the keyboard, it will save me from forgetting to type those missing keystrokes.

If the control groups does not exist, then it should revert to all bots.

While this is all good and fun, it does mean, that even though the file is only sent to the listed bots, only these bots will rehash (which is not what we want, in theory, we are updateing all bots, it's just the sending process that is limited.). Thus, unless a specific group is issued the command, all bots should rehash.
Statistics: Posted by ppslim — Mon Jun 17, 2002 8:39 am
