After some experimentation i've got it.

I am not sure exactly what happened or why but... the first user, (after the owner), mabus2... i had to add the flags and hostmask, and then part and rejoin before it FINALLY worked... all my other users now are being added normally and it works now...

Strangely, the other users do not need to part and rejoin, just the second user. It's like it resolved some sort of bug or something. Anyway, it works now

Thanks to everyone who helped
Statistics: Posted by Mabus4444 — Mon Jan 21, 2013 12:45 am

Well that definately narrows things down, and explains why it's affecting all the scripts. Now how do we fix it

I am noticing something new.....

When I start the bot with ./eggdrop -m debates

It starts up, and there are no error messages at all, HOWEVER.... it doesn't actually create a userfule (yes i deleted the userfile before doing this). I would assume thats related somehow.
Statistics: Posted by Mabus4444 — Mon Jan 21, 2013 12:33 am

Then it's definatly a userfile issue.... the bot simply doesn't know the users by their current hostmasks, or if it knows them, they don't have the flags to use the commands:)
Statistics: Posted by SpiKe^^ — Sun Jan 20, 2013 11:48 pm

Confirmed, this is in fact the problem. The bot does not recognize newly added users to the last seen thing. As far as the script is concerned, most of these are scripts which i downloaded from the egghelp file depository, most of them scripts i have been using for many years, which all suddenly stopped working well on the exact same day, the same day the shell changed. So It's not a script problem.

As for not identifying users properly, thats interesting. There may indeed be something going on there.
Statistics: Posted by Mabus4444 — Sun Jan 20, 2013 4:49 pm

A few issues I see with the script:

Don't use "args" as a parameter name, it's handled in a special manner in tcl, and accepts 0 or more arguments (placing them in a list). There are some cases where this might be desirable; though most certainly not in this case.

Consider using pushmode instead of putserv when setting channel modes. This helps your eggdrop optimizing mode settings.

isop needs a nickname, not a handle. It checks whether the nickname has channel operator status in the channel.

Other than that, have you verified that your users are properly recognized (use the .channels dcc-partyline command). The exerpt from the userfile listing you posted earlier would indicate that your eggdrop does not recognize mabus1 properly, as this user has never been seen by your eggdrop.
Statistics: Posted by nml375 — Sun Jan 20, 2013 4:41 pm
