Often it is a firewall that is blocking a port.<br><br>First simple test to perform:<br>Can you initiate a DCC chat with a regular user (not a bot) ?<br>Try it with a friend.  Does it work?<br>If you can't successfully *start* a DCC chat with a friend that has a known working irc client, then you've found one problem.<br>Perhaps it is your firewall(s), that are blocking your irc client.<br><br>Next, check your bot's .conf file.<br>Go here:   <a href="http://eggwiki.org/Eggdrop.conf" class="postlink">http://eggwiki.org/Eggdrop.conf</a><br>and find<blockquote class="uncited"><div># This opens a telnet port by which you and other bots can interact with the<br> # Eggdrop by telneting in.<br> #<br> # There are more options for the listen command in doc/tcl-commands.doc.
