Also, one thing in addition to Sir_Fz's reply; setting both my-ip and my-hostname is rather pointless, as they both affect the very same setting (which interface address on the host to use for all socket connections). Hostnames would only be resolved to their corresponding IP anyway.<br>I'd suggest you only set one of them (if needed at all).<br><br>As for changing these, any IP (direct or resolved) need to be hosted on the system in question, and most irc servers will show the hostname from the <span style="text-decoration:underline">reverse dns lookup</span> of the IP, regardless of what other hostnames point to that IP (and setting of my-hostname).<br>I would advice that you ask your system/shell administrator as to which IP's are OK to be used on that host.<p>Statistics: Posted by <a href="https://forum.eggheads.org/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&amp;u=8052">nml375</a> — Sat Jan 24, 2009 12:40 pm</p><hr />

That's just the ident of your bot, it's probably fixed to your shell account's login-name. It show <strong class="text-strong"><a href="mailto:StarPoweR@mydomain.dk">StarPoweR@mydomain.dk</a></strong> and StarPoweR is not the bot owner and dont use the same ip as the bot! <br><br>He just added to the bot, with a "f" flag. <br><br>From my config:<br><div class="codebox"><p>Code: </p><pre><code>set my-hostname "bot.***.dk"set my-ip "87.118.***.***"</code></pre></div>How can i change this to something els???
