This would also require some sort of gateway, to allow you to send a SMS to the bot itself.

Now unless you found a way around the (average in the UK) £75 a month charges, for the equipment, or managed equipment.

Thats before qritting the software to send messages on to the bot.
Statistics: Posted by ppslim — Thu May 02, 2002 11:22 am

I'm not really familiar with SMS (personally, I think mobile phones are the work of the devil), but my impression is that such a module or script requires some sort of gateway such as a free SMS website. There are four SMS scripts in the tcl archive - two are specific to certain countries, and the other two both use a service (mtnsms) which is no longer available outside of South Africa. Without a universal, free site for sending messages through, coders would have to support many different country or company-specific services, and there aren't enough of us for that.
Statistics: Posted by slennox — Tue Apr 30, 2002 6:30 pm

Hello everybody,

i am a newbie in IRC world and i must add SMS module to IRC. I explain my mind : people can do the common functions of the IRC from their mobile phone
(connect/disconnect/chat/list connected people).

So i would like to know if anybody has an idea to do this. I think it could be possible with bot, but i am not quite sure.

Best regards,

Renaud
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Tue Apr 30, 2002 1:58 pm
