Heh.. okay... I see your point... but strangely enough whilst this post actually had feedback the one I posted afterwards wherein I tried to include more details got none. I will put that down to the subject matter because well otherwise....

to which 90% of ppl (in my experience) would answer "no", as they don't have the knowledge to actually be more specific (eg, this is a fairly common tech support call:
customer: my pc don't work
tech: can you be more specific?
customer: nope
tech:
)

Hmm... I actually did listen to you and took your advice when posting another topic.

In my experience the number of replies you get is inversly proportional to the length of the original posting. A simple "could you be more specific" would have done.

This is just a selection of many thousands of questions, that you could have given us a clue about.

1 sarcastic quote, 8 questions, and the answer included to boot.

More than I can say for the single sentance, which was 100% sarcasm.

Your reply was much apreaciated, as it is now included in our e-mail netique examples (with a little help from my BOFH cert.).

Thankyou for the sarcastic reply, I actually managed to gleem enough information from it to fix my problem, which by the way was that I hadn't given eggdrop enough time to save it's userfile.

What do you mean by "Have to reset my password"?

Each time the bot starts, do you have to type "/msg bot pass newpass" (note, this is the only step)?

Do you have to say "hello" to the bot each time?

How did you kill the bot, or how did it die? And how long after setting the password do you have to do this?

How do you start the bot? Crontab, command line, other method?

What is the output when you type "quota" on the shell prompt (command line)?

Does it effect any1 else?

Have you tried DCC chatting the bot, typing ".save", waiting 10 seconds, then typing ".die". Restart the bot, and try and DCC chat again?

What scripts are you running?

Newbie question, everytime I restart my bot I have to reset my password before I can dcc chat into it. Am I missing a setting somewhere regarding this?
