Port 6667 of subzero.coldfront.net appears open and available to me. Have you checked that there is no local firewall blocking your outbound connections?
Statistics: Posted by nml375 — Tue Jul 22, 2008 12:10 pm

I believe it's similar to This issue, but after going through that thread I still couldn't get it to work properly.

Before I even started I made sure the Nick I'm using is unregistered and unused.
I set the net-type to 5.

I was then given this information:
"perhaps try connecting directly to a coldfront server instead of to irc.coldfront.net and having it pick a server for you"
But that returned the same results:
[00:54] === Jade: 1 channels, 0 users.
[00:54] main: entering loop
[00:54] Trying server subzero.coldfront.net:6667
[00:54] DNS resolved subzero.coldfront.net to 72.20.17.143
[00:55] Timeout: connect to subzero.coldfront.net
[00:56] Trying server subzero.coldfront.net:6667
[00:56] DNS resolved subzero.coldfront.net to 72.20.17.143

So, yeah, I don't have any port set, it just picks 6667. Should I set a specific one? I can't even get to the point of messaging 'hello'.

Any suggestions?

**Also note that I'm completely new at this (like most people asking for help).
Statistics: Posted by Syrik — Tue Jul 22, 2008 12:59 am
