Not really, those timestamps you see are generated by your irc client, not the server (or psybnc). As they're sent when the client connects, they're then timestamped "now".

hey guys,

my psyBNC is working fine but i have one question:
if i'm using "playtrafficlog last" i get the logs of the corresponding channels.
But there is one problem: the timestamps are from NOW, so if sth is posted 6hours ago my timestamp shows not 6:30 but 12:30 [now].

Is it possible to avoid this?

No, it is only sent to your client.

I have a question about the command '/quote PLAYTRAFFICLOG last' - when I do this, it plays the logs on the original channel (as opposed to the psyBNC window)... do the other ppl on the channel see this log being re-played also?

~Update~

I got:

<-psyBNC> You have Messages. Type /QUOTE PLAYPRIVATELOG to read your messages.

So I played, apparently I get my notices when I'm offline, just not thr private messages.

And to make sure I wasn't getting private messages, I disconnected my laptop from the internet, the one I was logged on with, I went downstairs and got on the computer and privated well, myself. lol

I get "<-psyBNC> You have no new Messages."

But numerous people have privated me when I went offline to test such things.

That is very odd.. Seems psybnc is unable to create the logfile or such then..

I assume you don't get any messages such as this one from -psyBNC either (upon connect):
"You have Messages. Type /QUOTE PLAYPRIVATELOG to read your messages."

/Playmainlog worked, I got all my d/c and reconnects in that one.

And /playtrafficlog works.

Do you know if your copy of psybnc was compiled with logging disabled? (NOLOG macro defined in config.h).

Does trafficlogging or mainlog work?

sometimes with psybnc, you need to precede commands with the word quote, as in /quote playprivatelog

That is actually with some clients, and would apply to any "non-supported" command in that client (not only psybnc-extensions). The command (if available) to send instructions directly to the server may vary, but /quote is quite common among these clients (such as IrcII and derivatives, etc).

However, since all other psybnc-commands apparently work, this is not the issue.

Also worth mentioning, if there is nothing logged, the PLAYPRIVATELOG command will produce no response at all, so it would seem there was nothing logged in this case.

If yu have access to the shell the psybnc is running on, check the file USER?.LOG on the directory /psybnc/log/
