It's not a compilation issue, it's a config issue. Look for the lines that read:

Code:

#### BLOWFISH MODULE ####loadmodule blowfish

You've probably still got the blowfish module (or whatever encryption module) commented out.

When the bot starts (with the -m option), you need to connect to it and establish yourself as the owner, which requires you supplying a password. The bot stores this information into a file (user.data or so) using this encryption module. Once it's done, you don't need the -m option when (re)starting the bot.
Statistics: Posted by dungeon — Wed Jun 20, 2007 6:09 pm

Make sure you're installing blowfish module, or some other encryption module, otherwise eggdrop won't be able to handle the userfile and stuff..
Statistics: Posted by rosc2112 — Sun Jun 17, 2007 2:29 pm

Apparently i seem to have this problem with my eggdrops when i try to run them. Anyone know of the problem please tell me the soloution. And yes i've gone through the eggdrop.conf tons of times, without figuring the problem.

Eggdrop v1.6.18 (C) 1997 Robey Pointer (C) 2006 Eggheads
[13:42] --- Loading eggdrop v1.6.18 (Sun Jun 17 2007)
[13:42] Listening at telnet port 2778 (all).
[13:42] Module loaded: dns
[13:42] Module loaded: channels
[13:42] Module loaded: server
[13:42] Module loaded: ctcp
[13:42] Module loaded: irc
[13:42] Module loaded: notes (with lang support)
[13:42] Module loaded: console (with lang support)
[13:42] Module loaded: uptime
[13:42] auth.tcl 1.1 by metroid loaded.
[13:42] TCL Debug v2.0 by kNocA loaded.
[13:42] Userinfo TCL v1.07 loaded (URL BF GF IRL EMAIL DOB PHONE ICQ).
[13:42] use '.help userinfo' for commands.
[13:42] Creating channel file

STARTING BOT IN USERFILE CREATION MODE.
Telnet to the bot and enter 'NEW' as your nickname.
OR go to IRC and type: /msg one hello
This will make the bot recognize you as the master.

You have installed modules but have not selected an encryption
module, please consult the default config file for info.

Yes i've read the last sentence, but it doesn't make sense to me, i've just compiled the eggdrop the way i always do, never caused me problems before now!
Statistics: Posted by Thau — Sun Jun 17, 2007 10:04 am
