I'm using eggdrop 1.6-17 + ssl patch under a Ubuntu dapper distro.
Problem is, it will NOT start and run into the background, nothing happens, logs don't even get written. But if I use the -n flag to run in console mode, it works fine.
I googled around and found some advice, i.e apt-get install eggdrop to get the "ubuntu binary", and replace my binary with this one, which appears to be runnable as a background process. Unfortunately, it then core dumps on startup
I assume this is because of the unpatched ssl binary, the resulting DEBUG next to core stack is :Debug (eggdrop v1.6.17) written Thu Oct 26 04:32:34 2006
