Or you can do waht stdragon said, which is more simple.. or if your irc server supports, add a perm invite/exempt for his host (match part of his nick or ident, just be more precise then the ban, they mustn't match).

make the ban like this

*!??*@sympatico.ca

and tell your friend to make his ident with one character.

e.g. santo!a@sympatico.ca can join the channel.

If there is a leading ~ infront of the ident it will be counted with one character so this won't work.

e.g. santo!~a@sympatico.ca can't join the channel.

so tell him to run ident server or set the ban like this. *!???*@sympatica.ca
Also if the person having this ip you want to ban has always a leading ~ infront of his ident then you could set the ban like *!~*@sympatico.ca and tell your friend to run ident server not to have a leading ~ infront of his ident.
I think that is the only solution to turn around this problem if you aren't able to use exception bans.

I want to add a ban to my eggdrop ban list such as *!*@sympatico.ca but I would like one user : santo!*@sympatico.ca to be able to log on my channel. I don't care how it is done but I can't do it with the exception list because undernet do not suport it.
Anyone can help me?
