wont the TCP connection timeout after some time of inactivity? it that case it would be rather useless for wait for the timeout, beacuse you dont know if the host really timedout (failed TCP keepalive) or just had the usual timeout of inactivity <img class="smilies" src="https://forum.eggheads.org/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title="Very Happy">.
