I've started getting this too since upgrading to 1.6.8. I noticed my bot was jumping "stoned" servers on Undernet, even though I was connected to the same server and doing fine. I turned off the jump-server-when-stoned option and my bot started pinging out and not returning, but still running on the shell. Ideas anyone?

Well, i didnt assume it to be on the BG, it IS on the BG, after i checked by 'ps -x'

And the network is DALnet.

Unusual... if the admin was killing the process it would show a quit message straight away. What server do you connect to? You may find the servers become stoned, disconnecting the bot but not reporting it (so it shows Ping Timeout). This happens sometimes on the network I use - however, they do come back.

You say the bot remains on the shell.. I take it you mean it remains an active background process? Do "ps x" on your shell, to check.

Hi,
Since sometime now, my bot started acting weird.
It pings out, but remains on the shell, and never returns to IRC.
Upon checking of logs, its *sometimes* happens when somebot is linking or delinking..

Eggdrop: 1.6.8
Netbots: The latest one..

I still have to log RAW as suggested by guppy, but the bot's dieing when i give that option and start the bot, so i dropped the idea of logging RAW.

Please help, as the bot is the one that does the channel limiting, and when it goes down, it locks the channel!
