Have a server with Fedore Core 3, installed eggdrop1.6.17 with the SSL .diff patch which was edited so it didn't gave an error on -with-ssl=.

now after everything is installed with ssl, it gives an error while trying to get a connection with an ssl irc server, it gives the following error:
"SSL Failed connect to 64.xxx.xxx.xxx (Error while switching to SSL)"

Does anybody know why this error message occurs? i have other programs that connect to SSL servers and it works just fine, so i doubt it's an openssl problem.
