Yeah, this little bug has stumped us for quite a while. "cd ." actually does seem to fix the problem. The permissions on the generated Makefile's are fine. From memory (a post from long long ago) the eggdev team point the finger at *BSD and the developers of *BSD point the finger the other way. The problem has been encountered!<br><br>It's *BSD specific and very well could be the build version. hmm it's not April 1st today, so you're probably not kidding, yet what you are saying is unbelievable; care to point out some sources supporting your statement?<br><br>I've been using FreeBSD for many years now, and I've never heard of permissions depending on the <em class="text-italics">cd</em> command; BTW, it's a shell built-in, not an external command (on FreeBSD there's <em class="text-italics">/usr/bin/cd</em>, but that's a dummy shell stub), and as such it has nothing to do with the operating system itself<br><br>needless to say, during my countless eggdrop builds on FreeBSD I've never experienced <em class="text-italics">permission denied</em> problem, let alone resolving it with <strong class="text-strong">cd .</strong><p>Statistics: Posted by <a href="https://forum.eggheads.org/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&amp;u=5056">demond</a> — Sat Oct 08, 2005 3:51 am</p><hr />

Do some research! On *BSD you cannot 'make' (permission denied) until after "<strong class="text-strong">cd .</strong>"<br><br>As I have *BSD shells I have to do it myself every single time I have to compile a bot.
