I have this problem too. They seem to mismatch the .attr +l (halfop) flag (even with an all 1.6.17 net) to the .botattr +l (leaf). Then the slaves start fighting with each other and the hub, usually disconnecting and stating that the hub has unleaflike behavior.

This is especially annoying because I don't have any bots specifically set to leaf in the first place. So I'm still stuck with a 1.6.15 network.

Also, the +l flag will still be there even if I set .attr -l or .botattr -l on any or all 1.6.17 bots. If .die is issued and the +l is then manually removed from a userfile, they will automatically +l again upon restart.

I should also probably note that this only starts to happen after more than 2 bots are connected to each other in a mixed network (1.6.15 and 1.6.17). I don't believe I've tried all 1.6.17 yet or, if I did, I don't recall what the result was.

i have hub (eggdrop1.6.15) and i want link some eggdrops 1.6.17.
i know that eggdrops 1.6.17 add all user with flag l ( user of eggdrops 1.6.15 don't have flag l).
Can i have problems if i do link?

WHAT IS A NAMESPACE?

well, when the nickchange is being initialized is a psybnc thing. the bot will send it right after login to IRC (meaning as soon the BNC send the cached welcome, MOTD, etc.). As you can figure it triggers only when the bot connects to the bnc and not when the bnc actually connects to IRC.

The bot did change nick, but not immediately, like two seconds after it joined channel on that network. Also I had to do bquit and bconnect to make it execute the init script

I said javascript because I don't use php in the page where I want the online status.

The ideia is to get just the online status from 1 single nick from one channel whcih at most gets 10 people.
I can use that script to create a filelist of all #channel users, but I dunno how to use javascript to reads the file and select a user, and then make it so an image or something is added if the user is found. In javascript this is way over what I can do.

So I was wondering if there is a way to do this in tcl. The bot sees a nick and then published some .js file that contains info to show up some picture, or another to show another pictrue in case that nick is not there. get my ideia?

how is login done? via HTTP post?
how will the SID beeing returned? cookie? redirect? or will only be visible in URLs contained in the html codes?
generally there are 2 usual ways to parse HTML code
either via tDOM: http://forum.egghelp.org/viewtopic.php?t=9972
or via RE: http://forum.egghelp.org/viewtopic.php?t=4319
examples for REs are found in almost all common scripts accessing html pages. The google script I rewrote also shows an example for the redirect header parsing.

I dont see any javascript used on onlinestatus.org for displaying the status. its just a plain picture tunneled through a script, which could be php, but does not neccessary to be so. Can be almost any other scripting language or libary/plugin that suppports file reading and binary data output.
The script probably is build in this structure:
- reading the status request from the URL string
- checking the status against the database (which can also be a text file)
- opening a image file representing the users status and dump it to the user agent

I would not recommend JavaScript, since it would need to read the whole datebase. If you do this you should ensure the datebase wont exceed a limit, so the file trasnfer size doesnt go above a few kilobytes (if compression is active the actuall size might be bigger).

PS: even the official web status from ICQ works that way . the only diffrent is, that its not using a script but a compiled libary

no need to worry about namespaces. their main purpose is to avoid name collions with var and proc names. by edititing one word, the whole script gets another prefix. at least I haven't seen another real purpose for using namespaces .

the thing you are looking for is called "init-server" and is within the .conf file. However you will need to now basics about the IRC protocol to use it right.

Hi

First, i'm a complete noob to TCL scripting altho i know some programming languages.

What i want to do:
- Login to a website
- Parse out of URL SID (php) id
- attach this url SID id to another page that is protected (no SID in url = redirects back to login site)
- parses out this html code:

I am using egdrop 1.6.17 + latest version of psybnc (eggdrop connect to psybnc locally). Now I know psybnc supports different nicks on different networks, and nicks can be changed by typing /nick networkprefix'newnick to change nick on specified network.

Ok, but how to make the eggdrop issue this command? I tried .nick through telnet but it seems to change my handle and not bot's nick. In eggdrop.conf there's only one option for nickname, so i guess ill have to make the bot automatically change nicks and not allow him to force default nick on all networks (because mIRC seems to be doing this - on reconnect it changes all nicks to default nick so one has to change nicks on every restart of mIRC).

Or maybe force the psybnc to use a certain nick for a certain network and not listen to eggdrop, but how?

Hope someone will be able to help.
